An unmistakable hawkmoth characterised by its substantial body, mottled brown forewings and brilliant golden-yellow hindwings and abdomen.
The distinctive skull-like marking across the thorax has made Acherontia atropos one of the world’s most recognisable moths, while its spread wings reveal the beautiful contrast between its cryptic forewings and dramatically coloured hindwings.
Displayed in a 4 × 6 inch black shadow box frame with white backing.
Please note: Each specimen is a genuine natural specimen and is therefore completely unique. Minor variations, markings or imperfections are part of its individual character.
Carefully prepared and framed by House of Specimens. Scientific identification is included on the reverse of the frame.
Keep out of direct sunlight and excessive humidity.
