Deroplatys lobata — Dead Leaf Mantis

An extraordinary leaf-mimicking mantis whose flattened body, mottled brown colouring and irregular edges closely resemble dried foliage.

The unusual silhouette of Deroplatys lobata makes it one of the most impressive examples of natural camouflage, with its broad body and leaf-like limbs creating an almost sculptural display.
