An impressive rhinoceros beetle characterised by its robust dark body and distinctive horn structure, which gives the species its unusual “rabbit ears” name.
Displayed with its flight wings fully extended, Eupatorus birmanicus reveals broad translucent amber wings normally hidden beneath its dark elytra, creating a striking contrast between the beetle’s powerful armoured form and the delicate wings beneath.
