Papilio paris detanii — Paris Peacock

Deep black wings and brilliant emerald-turquoise hindwing patches give Papilio paris its jewel-like appearance.

The iridescent scales shift beautifully depending on the angle of the light, making this one of those specimens that photographs well but looks even better in person. Papilio paris is commonly known as the Paris Swallowtail.
