Rhynchophorus vulneratus — Palm Weevil

A distinctive palm weevil characterised by its elongated snout, dark ridged elytra and rich reddish-brown colouring across the thorax.

Displayed with its flight wings extended, Rhynchophorus vulneratus reveals the warm amber wings normally concealed beneath its outer wing cases, while the angled pose highlights the unusual proportions and characteristic silhouette of this remarkable beetle.
