Saturnia pavonia — Small Emperor Moth

A beautifully patterned emperor moth featuring soft grey and brown colouring, delicate scalloped markings and four distinctive eyespots across its wings.

The intricate patterning of Saturnia pavonia gives the moth an almost illustrated appearance, while its prominent eyespots create a striking natural defence designed to resemble the eyes of a much larger animal.

Displayed in a 4 × 4 inch black shadow box frame with white backing.

Please note: Each specimen is a genuine natural specimen and is therefore completely unique. Minor variations, markings or imperfections are part of its individual character.

Carefully prepared and framed by House of Specimens. Scientific identification is included on the reverse of the frame.
