Xylocopa caerulea — Blue Carpenter Bee

A beautifully unusual carpenter bee with a dark body covered in soft blue-grey hairs and wings displaying subtle blue and violet iridescence.

Its muted colouring and fuzzy texture give Xylocopa caerulea a completely different appearance from the more familiar yellow-and-black image of a bee, making it a wonderfully distinctive specimen.

Displayed in a 4x4” black shadow box frame with white backing.
