Xylocopa confusa — Yellow Carpenter Bee

A beautifully distinctive carpenter bee characterised by its dense golden-yellow thoracic hairs, contrasting dark abdomen and softly translucent brown wings.

The warm colouring of Xylocopa confusa gives this species an unusually bumblebee-like appearance, while its broad body and extended wings reveal the substantial build characteristic of carpenter bees.
